Alghero is
located in the north-west coast of Sardinia.
The three
main airports in Sardinia are located in Alghero, Cagliari, Olbia.
However, despite of the relatively
short distances (Alghero-Olbia is about 140 Km;
Alghero-Cagliari is about 200 Km) connections are not
confortable. Trains and buses are not frequent and
travelling takes rather long times.
Thus, our
suggestion is to fly directly to Alghero-Fertilia, or to fly
to Olbia or Cagliari and then take a car.
The Alghero-Fertilia
Internationl Airport is about 10 km
away from the town centre. The cost
of a taxi from the airport to the hotels in the centre of Alghero is
approximately 25 Euros. Alternatively, one can take a bus to the air terminal,
located in the town centre (map of alghero),
at the cost of 1 Euro.
The Alghero-Fertilia
airport is connected to Italy, Spain, Germany and UK by several airlines

Getting to Alghero by car - [ map of Sardinia ]
From SASSARI to ALGHERO: Follow the road called SS 291 until the cross point “Strada dei due mari” (10 Km from Alghero). Then turn on the left to Alghero
city.
From OLBIA to ALGHERO: Follow
the road SS 597 towards Sassari and after 100 Km. take the road SS131 towards Porto Torres. Exit from
SS 131 towards Alghero - Aeroporto. Follow SS291 road
until the cross point "strada dei Due Mari", turning on the left direction to
Alghero city.
From PORTO TORRES to ALGHERO: Follow for 6 km. the road near the
Industrial Area. Then you will reach the cross point for Alghero. After other
17 Km. Pass over the cross point "Due Mari" on straight direction. 10
Km. later you will get Alghero city.
From CAGLIARI to ALGHERO: Follow the road SS131
"Carlo Felice", Sassari direction. Pass over two tunnels (4 Km before Sassari), don't exit for Sassari city: Sassari
- Viale Italia e Sassari - S. Maria. Leave the main road SS131 at the exit point Alghero - Aeroporto. Follow SS291 road until the cross point "dei Due Mari", turning on the left direction Alghero.
