Paolo Castello is an assistant professor (RTD-A) in the Electrical and Electronic Measurements Group of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Cagliari.
He received the M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Cagliari, with the dissertation: "Algorithms for the synchrophasor measurement in steady-state and dynamic conditions".
He is a member of IEEE and of the Italian Electrical and Electronic Measurements Group Association, GMEE.
His research activity focuses on measurement issues for synchronized measurement and measurement system. In the last years, the research activity has been particularly devoted to developing algorithms for synchrophasor calculation and characterization and testing of Phasor Measurement Units.
He received the 2017 National Instruments Academic Grant and 2017 Best Application in Instrumentation & Measurement Award in the field of the new monitoring systems and devices for distribution networks.
