The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Cagliari is a primary education and research institution.

It offers the Laurea and Laurea Specialistica Degree (in Electrical Engineering and in Electronic Engineering), and the Ph.D. degree (in Electronic and Computer Engineering and in Industrial Engineering); the number of students is over 2000.

It has 40 tenured employees, 35 of which are professors. Its main research areas are: Automatic Control, Circuits and Systems, Communications, Computer Engineering, Electrical Drives and Power Electronics, Electromagnetics, Electronics, Measurements, and Power Systems.

The department has strong co-operation and relationships with several research labs (both industrial and public) and with other academic institutions world-wide. Being the only higher-education institution on Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Sardinia, the department is strongly connected with the local industry.
